Executive Summary
The executive summary introduces your business strategy and probably is the most important section for lending institutions. If you can't persuade a loan officer in the first two or three pages that you've got a viable business proposal, you're going to leave empty-handed.

This summary is also important as a communication tool for employees and potential customers who need to understand — and get behind — your ideas.

Crêpe will introduce the first and only crêpe restaurant in the Palo Alto area.  It is the answer to an increasing demand for high quality and convenient food by a high-income, “on the go” population.  While several Palo Alto restaurants have successfully met these recent demands with various cuisine concepts, none have capitalized on the latent demand for crêpes.  Crêpe will serve a creative crêpe cuisine in a relaxed yet elegant environment, serving patrons during lunch, dinner and dessert.

In today's highly competitive environment, it is difficult to differentiate one restaurant concept from another.  Crêpe does this in the Palo Alto area by being the only concept that features creative crepes, prepared on our display stove, for very reasonable prices.  Our crepe oven and prep station will be out in the open where our customers can watch the chef prepare their crepes with creative batters, sauces and fillings.

Crêpe’s primary goal is to consistently provide a convenient and high-quality dining experience for the customer.

This plan is prepared to obtain debt and equity financing for the initial launch of this concept on 448 University Avenue in Palo Alto.  The financing is required to begin work on kitchen design, architectural plans, manuals and recipe books, site selection, equipment purchases, and to cover expenses in the first year of business. Additional financing will need to be secured for additional units in other geographic areas.  Our positive cash flow will help to offset some of this burden.

The initial capital investment will allow Crêpe to provide its customers with a value driven, convenient dining experience.  A unique, mid-scale, innovative environment is required to provide the customers with a “fast casual” atmosphere that will induce Bay Area Peninsula residents and workers to bring family and friends to dine and socialize.
